Film Industry

Film IndustryProduction

There are three stages of production, which are pre-production, production and postproduction. Pre-production is when the film crew are hired and locations are selected and sets are built. Production is when the film is recorded. Post-production is when they begin to edit the film and add sound effects, music and graphic. Before pre-production the ideas for the films are created, rights to books and plays and screenplays are written.
Distribution

After the film is completed its sent to the studio. Then the studio makes a licensing agreement with the distribution company who decide copies of the film to make and show it to prospective buyers and then is sent to the cinema a few days before the opening day and then is shown for a few days. The distributors carry out this job.
Marketing

There are different types of marketing such as star interviews, ‘making of’ documentaries, posters, magazines, television commercials, newspaper articles, trailers and websites. Reviews and profiles are also good publicity. Marketing is very important because it attracts a large range of audience and makes people interested in watching the movie.

Exhibition

Audiences get to see the films on TV and the cinema; they can also watch it online.  The exhibitor is who sells products in the cinema to make the experience more comfortable and relaxing. The sell popcorns, drinks, chocolates etc.
